Weather Announcments

The City of Brewster has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY effective immediately on 3/5/2025 until the streets are plowed curb to curb after the wind dies down. Please have ALL vehicles off the street as soon as you can. Thank you!!

Schaap has confirmed that Garbage & Recycling WILL NOT BE picked up Wednesday, March 5th, 2025.

Rescheduled for Thursday, March 6th, 2025.

If you have a vehicle parked on the street, please see to it that it is removed and placed in your driveway by the time the snowplow comes around. This will help in speeding up the snow removal from the streets. City ordinance does require them to be moved off the street until after plowing. If the plow must go around the vehicle the sheriff’s department has been notified to enforce this ordinance and could issue a ticket to the vehicle owner and have it towed away.

Residents are reminded to remove snow and ice from the sidewalks within 24 hours after the precipitation has ceased to fall. This will help make it safe for those who use the sidewalks. People use them every day heading to school or out for some exercise. It can take a long time for someone to mend after a fall. When removing snow from your sidewalks and driveway, do not push or blow snow into the streets, this violates city ordinance.
